Musumba is a 16-yr-old singer-songwriter of Congolese heritage from Bradford in West Yorkshire who writes, plays piano and guitar and sings. She describes her art as a fusion of blues, EDM, gospel and African rhythms with feminist lyrics, contemporary R&B vocals and rap.

Since releasing her début single in June 2019, she has been played multiple times by BBC Introducing, Radio Leeds, Radio 6 Music, Radio 1Xtra and local community radio. She has been the studio guest artist on several shows.

In November 2018 Musumba was invited to open for Kate Tempest at the Women of the World Festival in Bradford. Since then she has performed at numerous gigs and festivals.

Musumba was commissioned to participate in BBC Music Day 2019, delivering a spoken work piece over a performance of Elgar’s ‘Nimrod’ by the Bradford Youth Orchestra in public. Radio Leeds described it as “the jewel in the crown of BBC Music Day in West Yorkshire”.

Invited to perform at BBC Music Introducing Live in London, she met some of the BBC's top music presenters and emerging musicians and was broadcast on all 39 BBC local radio stations and Radio 6 Music.

Musumba has recently worked with top Leeds producer Ben Matravers and leading Bradford grime artist and producer Jae Depz, writing and recording tracks for release in 2020 while preparing for her GCSEs.
